Privacy policy

What we collect directly#

Nothing that identifies you. There are no accounts, no logins, no comment system, and no newsletter signup. We do not ask for your name, email address or location.

Standard web server logs may record the request (page, time, referring page, browser user agent and a truncated IP address) for security and error monitoring. These logs are not used to build profiles and are not sold.

The tools on this site#

Every calculator, picker and checker on Smart Living Web runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your device list, your platform choices, your Wi-Fi channel: none of it is transmitted to a server. Some tools remember your last answers in your browser's local storage so you can come back to them, and you can clear that at any time by clearing site data in your browser.

Advertising#

This site is funded by advertising served by third parties. Those providers may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to measure ad performance and, depending on your region and your choices, to personalize the ads you see. That data is collected by the advertising provider under its own privacy policy, not by us.

Where required by law, an advertising consent notice is shown before non-essential cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time through that notice. You can also limit ad personalisation in your browser settings, through your device's advertising controls, or by using tracking protection features.

Analytics#

If aggregate traffic analytics are used, they are configured for aggregate reporting only: no cross-site tracking, no advertising use of the data, and no attempt to identify individuals.

Children#

This site is aimed at adults buying and configuring home technology. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
